Wilson's second half surge lifts BHS to win over Ridgeview

Bakersfield High running back Wesley Wilson glanced up at the Griffith Field scoreboard and didn’t like what he saw.
His Drillers were trailing Ridgeview, 17-14, late in the third quarter of the two teams’ non-league game on Friday night.
That’s when Wilson decided it was time for him to kick things into high gear and help get the BHS offense going.

Stockdale runs through Independence, 32-7

The Stockdale Mustangs came into Independence High School looking to get their second win of the season and did just that by the score of 32-7.

The Mustangs came out hot on offense with two big runs from Sophomore RB Jaykob Jones that placed them in the red zone on their first drive of the game. On the fourth play of the drive, Junior QB Jack Kaiser passed to Jayden Hollis for a 19-yard Mustangs touchdown to put them on the board 7-0.

West clinches win over Foothill in 3-2 victory

Taliyah Mosley has three positions listed next to her name on West High’s volleyball roster; outside hitter, middle blocker, and middle hitter.
However, against Foothill on Tuesday night, Mosley looked like she was playing a newly invented hybrid position which could best be described as, “middle of everything.”

Bulldogs defeat South 21-6 for their first victory since 2017

Just three players on Golden Valley’s roster, before Friday night’s contest at South, had experienced the feeling of a varsity football win.

  The Bulldogs’ varsity football program was on a 12-game losing streak stretching back to their 2017 season finale at EBHS. Fortunately for GVHS, their team pulled off a 21-6 victory against the South High Rebels while putting an end to the dreadful streak.
