Fifteen KHSD schools receive CIF Central Section playoff bids

The CIF Central Section Football Playoff brackets were released Saturday afternoon with 15 Kern High School District teams receiving seeding.

 

Division 1

 

Liberty receives the 3 seed and a bye in the first round after finishing undefeated in SWYL play and ending the season strong with a 37-7 victory against Bakersfield HS. The Patriots will play the winner of (6) Clovis North and (11) Clovis West.

 

7th seeded Bakersfield HS will play at home against 10 seed Clovis East. The Drillers finished 3-2 in SWYL play. The winner of the matchup will play 2 seed, Buchanan.

 

Ridgeview grabs a home game and the 8th seed to face 9 seed Tulare Union. The Wolf Pack finished undefeated in SYL play. The winner will play the first seed, Central.

 

Division 2

 

Frontier receives the 8th seed to host 9th seeded Garces Memorial. The Titans won the two teams’ Week 7 matchup, 40-35. The winner will play the first seed, Hanford.

 

Brett Shelton and the 10th seeded Stockdale Mustangs travel to the coast to play 7th seed, Righetti High. The Mustangs finished 2-3 in the SWYL. The winner of their matchup will play the 2 seed, San Joaquin Memorial.

 

Division 3

 

Highland grabbed the 4 seed and a bye after finishing undefeated in SEYL play, earning their first outright league championship in school history. The Scots will play 5th seed Golden West in the 2nd round.

 

The 9th seeded South High Rebels will travel to (8) Central Valley Christian. The Rebels finished 2-3 in SEYL play. The winner of the matchup will play #1 Kingsburg.

 

West High receives the 10th seed and will travel to 7th seeded Lemoore. The Vikings finished the regular season strong with back-to-back wins against Golden Valley and Tehachapi. The winner of West and Lemoore will play 2 seed, Bakersfield Christian.

 

Division 4

 

North High gets the 8th seed to host 9th seeded Kerman. The North Stars finished their season strong with three straight wins against EBHS, MMHS, and South under new head coach Richie Bolin. The winner of North and Kerman will play #1 Washington Union.

 

East Bakersfield receives the 7th seed and a home game against the 10th seed Wasco Tigers. The Blades finished 3-2 in SEYL play. The winner of the matchup will play #2 Selma.

 

Division 5

 

Shafter grabbed the 5th seed to take on the 12th seeded Arvin Bears. The two teams faced in Week 8 with Shafter winning, 43-22. The winner of the matchup will play the winner of (13) Taft and (4) Strathmore.

 

Division 6

 

Foothill received the 8th seed and a home game against 9th seeded Minarets. The Trojans finished 1-4 in league play. The winner of the matchup will play the winner of (1) Bishop and (16) Boron.

 

10th seeded Kern Valley will travel to the 7th seed, Sierra Pacific. The Broncos finished 3-2 in High Desert play. The winner of the matchup will face the winner of (15) McFarland and (2) California City.

 

Mira Monte grabbed the 11th seed to play 6th seeded Mission Prep. The Lions finished 1-4 in SEYL play. The winner of MMHS and Mission Prep will play the winner of (3) Orosi and (14) Granite Hills.
